Your data stays on your device

The short version: SemantiNote is built to be private. Your notes, recordings, secrets, and the AI itself live on your computer. We don't have a server that stores them, we don't have accounts, and we can't read your content — because it never reaches us.

What SemantiNote stores — and where

Everything you create — notes, attachments, voice/meeting transcripts, embeddings for search, and your encrypted Secret Safe — is saved in a folder on your own device (and, for secrets, your operating system's secure keychain). None of it is uploaded to us or to any third party.

What leaves your device (and only these)

Downloading the app and your AI model — a one-time download from the app's distribution host and the model provider. After that, the AI runs fully offline.
Web search (optional, off by default per query) — if you use the assistant's web search, only your search query is sent to the search provider (e.g. DuckDuckGo). Your notes are never sent.
Software updates — the app may check the distribution host for a new version.
Buying a license / contacting us — if you purchase a product key or use the contact form on this website, the details you enter (name, email, message, and payment info handled by our payment processor) are processed to complete that request. This happens on this website, not inside the app.

No tracking, no telemetry

The app does not include analytics, advertising, or usage tracking. We do not build a profile of you, and there is nothing to opt out of because there is no cloud collecting your activity.

This website

This marketing site is static. The contact form is handled by a third-party form service (Formspree) that forwards your message to our email so we can reply. Payment, when enabled, is handled by a third-party payment processor; we never see your full card details.

Your control

Because your data lives in a folder on your device, you can back it up, move it, or delete it at any time — that permanently removes it. Uninstalling the app and deleting its data folder leaves nothing behind on any server.
